Templating is the main approach we take to make a company’s business development efforts as scalable as possible. Templates are business development forms, training programs and other tools that remain largely the same from transaction to transaction. Customization is possible with templates, as long as it only occurs according to a predictable and previously approved set of variations. Subway, Uber and H&R Block are very different yet highly-scaled businesses that leverage templated menus and processes to deliver their goods and services in many different markets using many different employees or contractors.
